Dress Code and Uniform

There is a school uniform at LIS and all students are expected to wear their uniforms at school and at school sponsored events.

Students are representatives of L.I.S. at all times, and must maintain a neat, clean appearance appropriate for school attendance and co-curricular activities. The regulation dress code will take effect on the first day of school in August and will end on the closing day in June. Students not complying with the dress code will receive detention and may be denied classroom attendance until they comply with the code.

L.I.S. maintains the prerogative to determine the suitability of any individual's appearance, including proper skirt or shorts length, tightness of pants and hairstyle. Students must maintain neatly groomed hairstyles consisting of one natural color, which may not cover the eyes.  For the male students, hair that reaches over the collar must be worn in a ponytail.  Students may wear one earring in each ear; no other visible body part may be pierced. No visible tattoos are permitted.

Uniforms are to be purchased separately by parents, the cost of which is not included in the school fees. Uniforms and logos may be purchased anywhere, but on island they are available at the Uniform Shop which is located on Settlers Way near the YMCA behind Magnolias.
